Tailhollow is a friendly, practical home for people who share their life with pets. We start with dogs, and with the puppy months in particular. Cats and older pets come later.
Why Tailhollow exists
Bringing a new pet home is joyful and a little overwhelming, and the internet is full of loud, conflicting advice. Tailhollow aims to be the calm alternative: short answers first, then the detail, written for real homes with real schedules.
How we write
- The answer comes first. Then the steps, then the detail for anyone who wants it.
- Kind, reward-based methods only. No shock or prong collars, no punishment-based shortcuts. This follows the position of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.[1]
- We cite our sources. Facts link to animal welfare groups, veterinary organisations and research. Our own opinions are labelled as opinions.
- We know our limits. We are not veterinarians or certified behaviourists, and our guides are general information. When something sounds medical or serious, we say so and point you to your vet or a qualified professional.

What we don't do
- We don't claim to have tested products we haven't tested.
- We don't publish ratings, star scores or made-up reviews.
- We don't promise results or timelines for training.
How Tailhollow is funded
Some pages may mention products that pay us a commission if you buy through our link. That never costs you more, and we say so on the page. A product never decides what our guides recommend, and free options come first. Read how we evaluate products and our affiliate disclosure.
